Bergamot has a refreshing and uplifting quality and it comes with a wide variety of uses. It’s well known as the green citrusy flavor added to Earl Grey tea. High in limonene, it is an excellent immunostimulant. It shows anti-microbial action towards drug-resistant bacteria as well as foodborne germs. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits for the skin. It’s aromatic properties garner a broad appeal for all genders and ages. It has been shown to have calming effects on the nervous system with potential to decrease blood pressure, heart rate and cortisol levels.
